Material growth is currently at the heart of our society's individual and collective aspirations. The existence of ecological limits to material growth necessarily truncates these aspirations. As a consequence, discourses highlighting the limits to growth and the need for urgent action are widely rejected by large segments of society. Environmental organisations are therefore faced with multiple dilemmas in their communication strategy. In this roundtable, representatives of some of the most important long-standing and new organisations will share their experiences with us.
