Aviram Sharma works as a Senior Researcher at the Post-Growth Innovation Lab at the University of Vigo, Spain. He was an Assistant Professor at the School of Ecology and Environment Studies at Nalanda University, India, between 2015 to 2023. Before that, he worked in different capacities with the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK and Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, between 2014-2015. He has held visiting positions at the University of Essex, UK; at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Science, Technology and Society, Graz, Austria and at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
He is an Associate Editor of Heliyon – Society and Politics Section (Cell Press) and of the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences (Springer). Besides, he serves on the Editorial Board of several other reputed journals, such as the Bulletin of Science, Technology, and Society (Sage), Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (Springer Nature), Societal Impacts (Elsevier), and Sustainable Horizons (Elsevier).
He is an interdisciplinary scholar whose teaching and research interests fall on the interface of STS (Science, Technology and Society Studies), Environmental Studies, and Development Studies.
