Dan O’Neill is a Professor of Ecological Economics at the University of Barcelona, and the President of the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE). His research focuses on the relationships between resource use and human well-being, and the policy changes that would be needed to achieve a sustainable economy within planetary boundaries. He is the Coordinator, with Federico Demaria, of the Horizon Europe research project MAPS, which explories models, assessments, and policies for sustainability. Dan has been an invited speaker at numerous institutions, including the European Parliament, European Central Bank, French National Assembly, and University of California at Berkeley.
